Hey everyone! School’s started up again, but I’m finding that I have a lot more time on my hands than I expected. I’ve read a lot less books than I’d hoped to this summer, (my reading list is basically untouched), but I’ve managed to post almost twice a month, at least! I hope that all of your lives are going wonderfully. Without further ado, here are my most anticipated releases for the rest of the year!

Yeah, yeah, I know what you may be thinking- isn’t it a little late for a “most anticipated release” post, especially when the year is almost over? (and can you believe the year is almost over? crazy) Well, you may be right, but most of the books I’ve been dying to read are coming out after this month, so it’s not too crazy. I will, however, mention a few books that have already come out this year, but I have not had the chance to read.

1. Kingdom of Ash

  • by Sarah J. Maas
  • Release: October 23, 2018

I’m sure many of you have heard of this lovely book, but in case you haven’t, Kingdom of Ash is the seventh and final installment of the Throne of Glass series. (link to my review here). It has been two years in the coming, and I cannot tell how apprehensive and excited I am for this novel. According to Sarah J. Maas, the book is around a 1000 pages- which makes me unbelievably happy. I cannot wait! (Also, look at this gorgeous cover)

2. Queen of Air and Darkness

  • by Cassandra Clare
  • Release: December 4, 2018

download

Again, a very popular series, QoAaD is the final novel in the Dark Artifices trilogy, which is the third series of books in the Shadowhunter world. I have loved being a part of this world, and I am terrified for what may happen in this book. After the ending of the last one, I’m not sure I can handle it!

3. A Court of Frost and Starlight

  • by Sarah J. Maas
  • Release: May 1, 2018

download

I read this one! I’ve really enjoyed her other books, but I did not love this one. I gave it three stars, because I thought it lacked substance and any real storyline. I understand that it was a transition novel, but it honestly felt like a waste of 200 pages. However, if you do want to continue the series, I would say definitely read this book, just don’t buy it. (libraries!)

4. Bright We Burn

  • by Kiersten White
  • Release: July 5, 2018

download

This book is the third and final novel in the Conqueror’s Saga. I loved the other two, because they were so different from what I normally read, and I am excited to dive into this one. I’ve finally gotten a copy after two months of waiting for the library book, and I can’t wait to start it!

5. War Storm

  • by Victoria Aveyard
  • Release: May 15, 2018

Fourth and final novel from the Red Queen series- loved it so much that I even wrote a review- click here to read it!

6. Muse of Nightmares

  •  by Laini Taylor
  • Release: October 2, 2018

download

This is the second book in the Strange the Dreamer series, and I am unbelievably hyped for this book. I heard so many great things about the first book, and when I finally read it, I was not let down. It was, quite honestly the best first book in a series I’ve ever read (disregarding the Philosopher’s Stone, of course).

7. Immortal Reign

  • by Morgan Rhodes
  • Release: February 6, 2018

download

So, I’m really quite upset with myself about this one. I have been waiting for this book ever since the fifth book came out (this is the sixth and final book in the Falling Kingdoms series), and I was so excited to read it. Then, the due date changed from December to February, and I just could not get to it. And now, it’s been 5 months. I still really want to read it, but I’m unfortunately not as excited as I was. (which is a shame, considering I loved the last five books)

8. Two Dark Reigns

  •  by Kendare Blake
  • Release: September 4, 2018

download

This is the third and final book in the Three Dark Crowns trilogy. The plot and idea of this series is so intriguing, and I’m looking forward to seeing how she will end the series. If you’re looking for a female lead dark fantasy, with a really cool story-line, check these books out!

9.What if it’s Us?

  • by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
  • Release: October 9, 2018

download

This is the only first book on my list! I love Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, and am so excited for this combination of their work. Both authors write fantastic LGBTQ+ books, and I cannot wait to see what they’ll do together. Read my reviews of History is All You Left Me and They Both Die At the End to learn about my love for angsty Silvera novels!

10. Wildcard

  • by Marie Lu
  • Release: September 18, 2018

download

I love Marie Lu, and that is one of the only reasons I read the first book in this series. It was an interesting idea, but not executed that well. It was very predictable, and while I am interested in the next book, it’s not a must read. If you’re looking for a good sci-fi series, read her Legend books, because they are fantastic.

11. Archenemies:

  •  by Marissa Meyer
  • Release: November 4, 2018

download

Similar story for this one. I loved Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles, so I read the first one of this series, Renegades. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t absolutely fantastic. On my to-read list, but not super high up there!

12. Leah on the Offbeat

  • by Becky Albertalli
  • Release: April 24, 2018

download

And last, but certainly not least, Leah on the Offbeat! Here’s another one that I read, mainly because I read Simon vs. the Homosapien’s agenda and absolutely loved it. This was good, and I would definitely recommend reading it after the first one!

Thank you so much for reading! Let me know which books you were most excited for in 2018 in the comments below!
